Terms and Conditions
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Your privacy matters to us, and we’re careful with the personal information you share. This policy sets out what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have along the way. Everything here follows the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you use our website or services, or send us your details, you’re agreeing to what’s described below. If any of it doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t share your information with us or use the site.
Who This Policy Applies to
This covers anyone we deal with: people browsing the website, anyone who books a call or business health check, the clients we work with, and anyone who emails us or signs up for our updates. Wherever we say “we” or “us”, we mean DA Business Coach. “You” is the person whose information we’re holding.
The Information We Collect
What we hold about you depends on how you’ve dealt with us. It can include:
- Your name and the name of your business
- Your email address, phone number and postal address
- Your role in the business, and general details about the business itself
- Anything you choose to tell us about your revenue, goals and challenges
- Records of our conversations, your bookings, and the work we do together
- Payment and billing details when you buy a paid service
- Messages you send through forms, email, messaging apps or social media
- Technical details picked up automatically on the website, like your IP address, browser, device and the pages you look at
We stick to information we actually need to run the business and help you. If you’d rather not identify yourself, you can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where that’s practical, though there’s only so much we can do for you that way.
How We Collect Your Information
Most of the time it comes straight from you: a form you fill in, a session you book, an email or message, a conversation, or an agreement you sign. Some of it is picked up automatically by cookies while you’re on the site. And once in a while we receive it from a partner or a referral source where you’ve agreed to that, or the law allows it.
If you pass on someone else’s details to us, we’ll assume you have their okay to do so.
Why We Collect and Use Your Information
We put your information to work in fairly ordinary ways:
- To answer your enquiries and provide the services you ask for
- To arrange and manage your bookings, sessions and health checks
- To deliver coaching, digital and IT support, risk assessments and global hiring support
- To process payments and keep proper business records
- To keep you in the loop about the work we’re doing for you
- To send you updates, offers and useful content, if you’ve agreed to receive them
- To improve our website, our services and the way we work
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations
We won’t use your details for anything unrelated. They stay tied to the reason you gave them to us, a purpose you’d reasonably expect, or something you’ve said yes to.
Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website uses cookies, like most do. These are small files saved to your device that keep the site working, remember your preferences, and give us a sense of how people move around it. We also lean on analytics tools to read our traffic and make improvements. If you’d rather block cookies, your browser settings let you do that, though a few things on the site may not behave properly afterwards.
When We Share Your Information
We never sell your personal information. There are only a handful of situations where we pass it on at all:
- To trusted providers who help us run the business, such as our IT, website, payment and admin support, all of whom are bound to protect it
- To partners who help deliver something you’ve asked for, such as our global hiring partners
- Where you’ve given us the go-ahead to share it
- Where the law requires or permits it, or where it’s needed to protect our rights or someone’s safety
Whoever receives it has to look after it under privacy law and use it only for the reason we handed it over.
Sending Information Overseas
Some of our services may involve people and partners based outside Australia. That means your information might travel to or be seen from another country. When it does, we take sensible steps to keep it protected and handled to a standard that lines up with Australian privacy law.
Marketing and Staying in Touch
Now and then we might email or message you with news, a piece of information, an offer or an invitation, but only if you’ve agreed to hear from us. Opting out is easy: use the unsubscribe link in the message or just tell us. The one exception is that we may still need to reach you about a service you’re already using.
Keeping Your Information Safe
We take reasonable steps to guard your information against loss, misuse, and anyone getting to it who shouldn’t. In practice, that means secure systems, access limited to people who need it, and a team and partners who handle it with care. Nothing stored or sent online is ever completely safe, though, so while we do our best, we can’t promise it’s beyond every risk.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We hold onto your information for as long as we genuinely need it, whether that’s for the purpose you gave it to us or to meet our legal and record-keeping duties. Once it’s no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or strip out anything that points back to you.
Accessing and Correcting Your Information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and if something’s wrong or out of date, you can ask us to fix it. Get in touch using the details at the bottom of this page and we’ll come back to you before long. Access is usually free, though a bigger request might carry a small fee. If there’s a legal reason we can’t give you access, we’ll tell you what it is.
Making a Complaint
If you feel we’ve mishandled your information or slipped up on the Australian Privacy Principles, please come to us first. We’d like the chance to look into it and put things right. and we’ll respond as quickly as we can. Still not satisfied? You can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Other Websites
You’ll sometimes find links on our site that lead somewhere we don’t run or control. This policy stops at our door, so it’s worth reading about the privacy policy of wherever those links take you.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are built for business owners and adults, and we don’t set out to collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us their details, let us know and we’ll remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We’ll revise this policy occasionally, whether it’s the business that changes or the law. The current version always lives on this page with its date up top, so it’s worth a look every so often to see how we’re handling your information.
